SamleYaw caps Reg’l Cheerdance contest
Securing the 2nd place last year, EVSU-SamleYaw dance troupe advances this year by topping the 4th Regional Pintados Cheerdance Competition held at the Leyte High School Gym on November 12, 2009.
Compared to last year’s performance, EVSU not only wowed the crowd but proved that they deserve to be declared as the champion through their exceptional moves and stunts.
With full force, the 25 EVSU cheerdancers and 30 spotters overshadowed St. Paul’s School of Business and Law, EVSU Ormoc City Campus, Asian Development Foundation Center, Sogod Leyte Campus, and Leyte Normal University.
“Everything was new,” proudly stressed Mr. Jerry Mores, the choreographer and the artistic director of EVSU Cheerdance Team referring to the innovations done in skills, techniquess, and creative styles.
Gaining not only the honor of being the champion, EVSU also received P35,000 cash prize.
The Pintados Foundation through Hon. Eugene Tan organized the said competition.
