The United Architects of the Philippines Student Auxiliary (UAPSA)-EVSU Main Chapter launched the celebration of National Architecture Week (NAW) anchored to the theme, “Arkitekturang Lokal: Yamang Pamana ng Bayan” last December 3-5, 2009.

The activity started with a mass held at the EVSU Inner Court followed by a motorcade to the Robinson’s Place, the venue for the opening program and the exhibit of the scale models of Philippine architectures.

Simultaneous contests followed in which College of Architecture and Allied Disciplines (CAAD) students competed in landscaping, extreme design, interior and exterior model making, Quiz
Bee, water color rendering, pen and ink rendering, colored pencil rendering and marker rendering. “Arkiventure”, an Amazing Race- Amazing Race- like competition, also enlivened the celebration held in Baluarte Resort,San Jose,Tacloban City. The last day of the weeklong activity highlighted the “Search for Arki Babe 2009”. It was a contest in which male representatives from different sections of the College dressed and acted like true female beauty candidates in a pageant. Following the said affair was the awarding of winners for all the competitions and the recognition of the College’ dean’s listers.
