Research Department

Vision

A center of excellence and high quality technology researches in order to provide research information for utilization by the community in line with the institutes mandate and complementary or regional and national development.

Mission

To oversee the management of all the Institute’s research activities that help improve instruction and make extension services meaningful responsive to regional and national agenda.

Objectives

  1. To coordinate all research activities of the Institute, including those that are sponsored by other agencies;
  2. To identify research priority areas on the micro level in consonance with regional/national research areas, including the research needs of the Colleges;
  3. To evaluate with the other members of the Research Advisory Council research proposals of faculty and staff and recommend the same to the Institute and other agencies for funding;
  4. To establish linkages with other public, private, domestic and foreign agencies and other organization;
  5. To recommend appropriate incentives for outstanding researches, like Institutional recognition, publication and recognition of other organization;
  6. To establish a data bank of useful information for research and for the Institute;
  7. To coordinate with other units of the Institute in identifying major thrusts and programs and undertaking studies for the improvement of instruction;
  8. To review, analyze and integrate budgetary request of the different Colleges and department units;
  9. To monitor the progress of the researches, programs and projects of the Institute and to make appropriate recommendations, and;
  10. To disseminate researches through the conduct of research fora and publication.
