President's Message
Dr. Catalino B. Beltran, University President
New Year’s Message delivered on January 4, 2010 at the auditorium after the flag ceremony
The school officials, faculty members, the non-teaching staff, dear students, ladies and gentlemen, good morning!
First and foremost, let me greet everyone a prosperous and a peaceful new year. We observe today a prayerful welcome to 2010 signifying renewal as well as change for the best of the new year to every sector here at the Eastern Visayas State University-from the teaching staff, the non-teaching personnel and to the students as well.
The opening of the year 2010 augurs fresh hope for a more dynamic and more responsive stakeholders. As we await anticipation what is in store for us this year, let us resolve to be more optimistic in outlook as we infuse positive thinking in our day-to-day activities in our respective workplaces.
As faculty members and as members of the non-teaching staff of this prestigious institution, let us continue to work collectively, sharing our expertise in order to contribute fully to the development of the region and the nation. In our deliberate effort to seek continuous improvement in the delivery of our services, there will be a diversity of ideas and opinions which may arise in the process, but I am very sure an agreement can be reached if all of us will always think of what is best for EVSU.
As students of this institution, let us renew our resolve to make our teachers and parents proud of our achievements. Always remember that a more disciplined, diligent and upright studentry are the key ingredients in building a strong foundation for the university and the country as well.
In short, let us leave behind the negative forces which tend to destroy the very foundation of this university we so love. Instead, let us move on with positive attitude so we can always bring forth good news to our students, to our co-employees and to the clientele of the university.
Today, as we go back to our respective areas of assignment, it is our duty to continuously perform our task diligently, efficiently and effectively. With genuine interest and sincere dedication to duty we will be able to make a difference in the life of this university.
As faithful servants, let us renew our commitment to offer our services with honesty and sincerity. Let every minute of the day count as we work productively for the best of EVSU.
In meeting the challenges ahead, I am very optimistic that there will also be opportunities for growth. We were able to accomplish numerous projects and have excelled in many activities which we can be proud of. Hence, we need to enlist the cooperation and support of everyone so we can formulate solutions that will work for the university. As we stand united, there is more that we can do as we face the challenges of the year 2010.
A moment with the Lord:
Lord, thank You for 2010.
May everyday this New Year find us working and praying, loving and hoping.
Amen.
With guidance of the Almighty, let us look forward to a bright new year ahead of us. Good luck and may the best of everything happen in the year 2010. Thank You and Mabuhay!
