TACLOBAN CITY — Student interns from the Bachelor of Science in Information Technology (BSIT) program of Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) were recognized by the Civil Service Commission Regional Office VIII (CSC ROVIII) for their outstanding contributions in developing internal systems during their internship.

In a culminating event titled “Presentation of Systems Development Projects of EVSU IT Interns” held on June 2 at the CSC ROVIII Human Resource Center, the pioneering batch of EVSU-BSIT interns demonstrated seven systems they co-developed under the Commission’s Integrated Management Information System (IMIS).

Key officials from the Civil Service Commission Regional Office VIII, including Atty. Marilyn E. Taldo, Regional Director; Atty. Flordeliza C. Algas, Assistant Regional Director; and various office heads came to witness the presentations and show support for the interns. Representing the EVSU Information Technology Department were Prof. Eric O. Sta. Singh, Prof. Ronnie G. Cabillan, and Dr. Jessie R. Paragas, who joined the event to commend their students’ work and strengthen the university’s partnership with the Commission.

These 7 systems include the Special Eligibility Tracking System; Case Tracking System; Disbursement Voucher System; Fuel Consumption Report System; Regional Office Orders and Memoranda Management System; Client Daily Logsheet; and the Intern Information System.

As explained by each presenter these projects were designed with the goal of addressing specific operational needs within CSC ROVIII such as improving workflow, streamlining records management, etc.

Once the presentations ended, the interns were awarded with certificates of appreciation in recognition of their efforts and the successful completion of their internship.

This recognition accentuates the growing role of incorporating IT solutions in public service and also shines a spotlight on EVSU’s BSIT program’s capability of producing innovative and capable minds.
