News DOST-EVSU MEIC re-echo training draws to a close

The Metals and Engineering Innovation Center (MEIC) concluded its re-echo training held from April to May 2025 with a Closing Ceremony Program at the EVSU ORDExS Studio, Thursday, June 5.

Participants underwent a series of training covering machine design and the innovation thinking process, machine operation, shielded metal arc welding, gas tungsten arc welding, and the principles of metal fabrication.

Faculty researchers from the Department of Science and Technology–Eastern Visayas State University (DOST–EVSU) served as resource persons including Dr. Jonathan L. Mañas and Engr. Albert Azcarraga accompanied by Engr. Elijah D. Buzon, DOST–EVSU MEIC Project Assistant.

Dr. Pearl Aphrodite B. Carnice, EVMEIC focal person and Director for Research and Development, gave a message of support during the ceremony, stressing the need for ongoing learning and teamwork, and encouraged participants to help bring positive change and promote innovation in their colleges and campuses and communities across Eastern Visayas.

Prof. Ralph Anthony R. Cuento of the College of Education and Prof. Noel A. Baquilod of the College of Technology shared their takeaways and learnings from the training.

DOST-EVSU MEIC continues to cultivate expertise and partnerships, it affirms its role in driving technological advancement and regional progress.
