News EVSU kicks off 21st Charter Anniversary celebrations

Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) officially opened its 21st Charter Celebration today with a series of activities highlighting faith, service, and solidarity.

The day began with a Holy Mass officiated by Rev. Fr. Kelvin Apurillo, University Chaplain, who reminded the community to live with kindness and to always look for the good in others.

To mark the occasion, EVSU unveiled the official logo of the 21st Charter and launched its theme song, both serving as symbols of the university’s growth and continuing journey of transformation and resiliency.

In his virtual message, University President Dr. Dennis C. De Paz described the anniversary as a milestone worth honoring and a legacy worth celebrating, emphasizing that vision and action must always go hand in hand. He also emphasized the power of unity, “Beyond our differences in opinions and positions, it is unity that binds us together. Unity transforms our dreams into realities, our challenges into opportunities, and our resilience into strength.” Dr. De Paz noted.

Alongside the opening program, the university also conducted a bloodletting activity and launched the KADIWA Center, further reinforcing EVSU’s commitment to service and community engagement.

A lively Kanyaw was also held, where EVSU employees showcased their talents in dynamic sing-and-dance performances.

The Supreme Student Government (SSG), along with various student organizations, launched their booths to highlight the creativity and ingenuity of EVSU students.

More events and activities are lined up as the Charter Celebration continues, bringing together the EVSU community in honor of its 21 years of service, excellence, and resilience.
