The Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), through its Gender and Development (GAD) Office, successfully kicked off the second day of the Gender Sensitivity Training and Eastern Visayas Regional Pool of GAD Resource Persons Certification on August 14 at the ORDExS Studio Room.
The day’s session focused on equipping participants with practical tools and frameworks to strengthen GAD initiatives within their respective offices and communities. Participants engaged in an in-depth discussion of the Gender Mainstreaming and Evaluation Framework (GMEF), a vital self-assessment tool that measures progress in institutionalizing gender-responsive programs.
Alongside GMEF, the training also covered Gender and Development Planning and Budgeting (GPB) strategies, guiding participants on aligning their programs and resources with national gender mainstreaming goals.
To reinforce learning, an interactive workshop was conducted on the Harmonized Gender and Development Guidelines (HGDG), allowing participants to apply the concepts in a hands-on, collaborative environment. This activity aimed to deepen their understanding of integrating gender perspectives in development projects and policies.
The two-day event underscores EVSU’s continuing commitment to promote gender equality and to build a pool of certified GAD resource persons who can champion gender-responsive governance and development across Eastern Visayas.
