As part of the Women’s Month 2025 celebrations, Eastern Visayas State University’s (EVSU) Gender and Development (GAD) Office, joined hands with the Student Affairs and Services Office (SASO) in organizing a seminar for wellness and self-care, catered to the broader EVSUnista community.
The activity, held also as a part of the university’s advocacy for women’s empowerment, especially sought to reach marginalized women and to amplify their voices in conversations about well-being.
The seminar featured insightful discussions led by Registered Psychometrician Prof. Normae C. Ecija, who emphasized the importance of prioritizing mental health, emotional resilience, and self-care practices as essential tools for navigating the challenges of daily life.
Beyond providing practical strategies, the event also opened a safe space for dialogue, where participants were encouraged to reflect on the barriers women face in accessing wellness resources and to share their personal journeys. By creating this platform, EVSU reinforced its mission of fostering an environment that promotes dignity, balance, and equitable opportunities for all.
Through activities such as this, the university not only celebrates Women’s Month but also deepens its commitment to inclusivity and empowerment, ensuring that women, especially those from marginalized sectors, are supported in their pursuit of holistic well-being.
