Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), in partnership with Kun Shan University (KSU) of Taiwan, co-hosted the information sessions for the International Industrial Talents Education Special (INTENSE) Program last December 2 at the Graduate School Function Hall.
The KSU’s delegation was led by Dr. Mike Chu, accompanied by the INTENSE program managers Ms. Wing Hsiao, Ms. Tina Chang, and Ms. Belle Zheng and representatives from INTACT Base–Manila, Ms. Jonah Ponce and Ms. Joy Fojas.
The activity gathered faculty and students from EVSU’s STEM-aligned programs, along with International Relations Officers (IROs) from various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) across Eastern Visayas, emphasizing a shared effort toward fostering international academic engagement.
During the sessions, participants were introduced to the INTENSE Program, an initiative of the Taiwan Ministry of Education aimed at attracting outstanding international students to pursue advanced study and employment opportunities in Taiwan. The program highlights world-class education in STEM, Finance, and Semiconductor fields supported by cutting-edge curricula, job opportunities that require graduates to stay and work in Taiwan according to their scholarship duration, and full support through government–industry collaboration that provides comprehensive scholarships and structured training.
The program further offers notable advantages, including travel assistance such as a one-way airline ticket and covered administrative fees, a Taiwan Scholar degree, tuition subsidies for up to two years, a monthly living allowance, paid internship opportunities, and guaranteed job placement upon graduation.
Through this co-hosted initiative, EVSU continues to strengthen its global partnerships and expand international pathways for its students and faculty, contributing to a more globally competitive academic community.
