Eastern Visayas State University conducted a two-day training workshop for extension coordinators on June 17 to 18, 2026 at the ORIES Training Room aimed at strengthening Gender and Development (GAD) responsive extension monitoring and evaluation across its campuses.
Dubbed “Enhancing GAD Responsive Extension Monitoring and Evaluation: A Training for EVSU Extension Coordinators,” the activity organized by the university’s Extension Services Office focused on improving the implementation and assessment of extension programs while ensuring gender-inclusive and community-centered development initiatives.
The event formally opened with remarks from Dr. Rustom D. Clemente, Director of Extension Services, followed by an inspirational message from Danilo B. Pulma, Jeffrey B. Negros, DBBA presented the rationale, while Amelita A. Ariza, introduced the resource speaker.
Discussions during the training covered the review of extension PPAs, GAD contextualization, monitoring and evaluation frameworks, program assessment methods, Theory of Change, and workshop sessions designed to enhance participants’ practical understanding of evaluating extension initiatives.
Serving as main resource speaker was Rhoderick D. Malangsa, DIT of Southern Leyte State University. The training concluded with awarding of certificates and closing remarks from Crizelda F. Briones, DM, reaffirming EVSU’s commitment to delivering responsive and impactful community extension services under its vision of “One Vision, One Action, One Community.”
