News EVSU conducted a virtual orientation on RA 10931 Implementing Rules and Regulations to incoming freshmen students

Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), through the Student Affairs and Services Office (SASO), conducted a virtual orientation on the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) of RA 10931 or the “Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act of 2017” to incoming freshmen students.

RA 10931 promotes universal access to quality tertiary education by providing tuition and other school fees in state universities and colleges (SUCs), local universities and colleges (LUCs), and technical-vocational institutions (TVIs) in the country. This is part of the current administration’s commitment to provide quality and affordable education to all students.

In line with this, the university finds it necessary to orient its new students with the implementing rules and regulations of RA 10931. The orientation centered on the provisions, benefits, mechanisms, and frequently asked questions relative to the said law.

The resource speakers were: Dr. Joergen T. Arradaza, Jr., SASO Head of Ormoc City Campus; Prof. Melody M. Gariando, Scholarship Coordinator and TES Focal Person of the Main Campus; and Mr. Geoffrey Rainier O. Cartajena, Accountant Designate of EVSU Ormoc.

The University President, Dr. Dennis C. de Paz, the OIC-Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Lydia M. Morante, SASO Heads across campuses, and other university personnel were also present in the said activity.
