PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE ON SUSTAINABILITY
At Eastern Visayas State University, we believe that education must not only transform minds but also safeguard the future of our communities and our planet. As we aspire to become the National University for Resiliency and Climate Action by 2040, sustainability has become both our guiding principle and our moral responsibility.
Our region has long been shaped by the challenges of climate change and environmental vulnerability. These realities strengthen our resolve to develop a climate-responsive curriculum, lead innovative research, and foster partnerships that empower both local and global communities. Through our Sustainable Development Goals (SDG)-aligned programs, we ensure that every endeavor—from teaching and research to extension and governance—contributes to building a resilient, inclusive, and sustainable future.
We recognize that sustainability is not the work of one, but the mission of many. EVSU’s commitment thrives through the collective efforts of our faculty, staff, students, and partners who champion energy efficiency, green infrastructure, responsible resource management, and sustainable livelihoods. By embedding these values into our institutional culture, we are shaping leaders who are not only skilled professionals but also responsible stewards of the environment.
Let this message serve as both a call and a commitment: EVSU will continue to lead with vision, act with integrity, and serve with compassion as we nurture a sustainable tomorrow for the generations to come.
