CAS Leads Education Outreach Through CHEM-HACKS and Allied Programs
The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) of Eastern Visayas State University continues to be a key driver in advancing Quality Education, by extending its expertise and educational initiatives beyond campus. Through the CHEM-HACKS umbrella program, CAS demonstrates its commitment to fostering inclusive, equitable, and sustainable learning opportunities for all.
At the forefront of this initiative is the BUBBLE Project, which focuses on providing sustainable livelihood training for Alternative Learning System (ALS) girls in the municipalities of Palo, Leyte, Sta. Fe, Leyte, and Tanauan, Leyte. This program integrates chemistry-based and practical innovations to help participants develop essential skills for income-generating activities, thereby empowering women and supporting community development.
Complementing this is FILTEK (Filipino Language and Technology)—a program designed to enhance Filipino language proficiency among the same ALS learners. By equipping participants with stronger communication skills suited for the digital age, FILTEK bridges linguistic and technological competencies, enabling learners to engage more confidently with modern tools and platforms.
Meanwhile, the ARMAS (Applied Research Methods and Statistics) initiative extends CAS’s outreach to Senior High School teachers and students in Alang-alang, Leyte.
