Empowering EVSU Workers: Uniting for Academic Freedom and Growth

Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) upholds the principles of freedom of association and collective bargaining as fundamental rights of its workforce. The University recognizes and supports the active participation of both teaching and non-teaching personnel in duly constituted labor organizations specifically the Eastern Visayas State University Faculty Association (EVSU-FA) for academic staff and the Eastern Visayas State University Non-Teaching Personnel Association (EVSU-NTPA) for administrative and support employees.

Through these recognized unions, EVSU ensures that all employees, regardless of gender, position, or employment status have equitable access to representation, collective negotiation, and participation in institutional decision-making. The EVSU-FA and EVSU-NTPA serve as official partners of the University in promoting fair labor practices, fostering mutual respect, and advancing the welfare of their members through dialogue and collective agreements.

These associations actively engage in consultations and negotiations concerning employee benefits, working conditions, and professional development opportunities. EVSU management upholds a collaborative relationship with both organizations, ensuring that discussions are conducted transparently and guided by principles of fairness and inclusivity.

By institutionalizing these mechanisms for collective bargaining and representation, EVSU demonstrates its strong commitment to decent work, social justice, and participatory governance—creating a work environment where every employee’s voice is heard, valued, and protected.
