In celebration of Women’s Month, a Forum on Strengthening the Gender and Development Focal Point System (GFPS) was conducted, along with a Workshop on Monitoring and Evaluation Tools and the Framing of the EVSU GAD Agenda. The three-day activity gathered key university stakeholders to deepen their understanding of gender mainstreaming and strengthen institutional efforts toward gender-responsive governance.
Facilitated by Leo Christian V. Lauzon, the sessions covered the foundations of gender mainstreaming in higher education, providing participants with a clearer perspective on integrating gender equality principles in university programs and policies. Another session focused on strengthening the GFPS, highlighting the vital role of the focal point system in implementing and sustaining Gender and Development initiatives within the institution.
Participants also engaged in discussions on linking gender analysis to GAD planning and agenda setting, emphasizing the importance of data-driven and inclusive strategies in crafting effective gender programs. The three-day seminar will culminate in the framing of the EVSU GAD Agenda, a significant step in reinforcing the university’s commitment to gender equality, inclusivity, and empowerment.
