The Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), in collaboration with the Department of Science and Technology (DOST), conducted an informative orientation for aspiring scholars this May 6, at the EVSU Auditorium. The event aimed to introduce students to the Junior Level Science Scholarship (JLSS) 2025 program, which offers financial support to third-year college students pursuing degrees in science and technology fields.
This program encouraged talented individuals to continue their studies in scientific fields, helping them build a strong foundation for future careers in research, development, and innovation.
During the event, representatives from EVSU and DOST discussed the eligibility criteria, application process, and the benefits of being a JLSS scholar. Students were also given a comprehensive overview of requirements and the steps needed to apply for the scholarship. The program offers financial aid and also opportunities for scholars to attend relevant seminars, workshops, and other educational events that will support their academic and professional growth.
The participants were encouraged to ask questions and were provided with valuable insights into how the JLSS can help in advancing their studies and career prospects in the science and technology sectors.
The information caravan, held at EVSU, highlighted the importance of fostering a scientific community within the Eastern Visayas region. By collaborating with local educational institutions, DOST aims to provide students with the resources and guidance needed to pursue successful careers in science and technology.
