Faculty and fourth-year students from the university’s Department of Natural Sciences (DNS) recently took part in a tree planting activity held on May 27 in Brgy. Bacong, Babatngon, Leyte.
The initiative, led by the DNS, corresponds with the Pollution Control Office’s aim of advancing ecological sustainability and institutionalizing environmental activities as long-term strategies for pollution mitigation and environmental protection.
As explained by the organizers, this tree-planting drive is part of a broader effort of strengthening the university’s environmental advocacy and providing the students with hands-on experience in community-based environmental management.
