As part of EVSU’s initiative of furthering gender-responsive research, the university’s Gender and Development office, headed by Director, Dr. Glenda B. Tupaz launched the event themed “Research to Reality: Enhancing Women Studies for Community Impact,” currently ongoing from September 24-26 at the Graduate School Function Room.
The program affirms EVSU’s commitment to Republic Act 9710, also known as the Magna Carta of Women, which mandates the protection and promotion of women’s rights, and aligns with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Memorandum Order No. 1 series of 2015 that underscores the integration of gender perspectives in research, development, and extension functions within academic institutions.
Attending the event are the university’s GAD coordinators, Extension Coordinators, Research Coordinators, and selected faculty members from EVSU’s various schools.
Initiatives such as this not only strengthen EVSU’s compliance with national policies but also cultivate a research environment that contributes to more inclusive, equitable, and community-responsive academic practices.
