Dear Colleagues:
We wish to inform you that the 2022 Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) – Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) Joint Research Project Call for Proposals is now open.
In pursuit of the ongoing cooperation in science and technology between the Philippines’ Department of Science and Technology (DOST) and the Chinese Taipei’s Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST), DOST is calling for mutually beneficial and collaborative project proposals for implementation in the 1st Quarter of 2023. The identified priority areas for this call that are under the purview of DOST-PCAARRD include:
- Artificial intelligence/Smart farming; and
- Biotechnology for livestock.
The modes of cooperation include joint research/study, exchange of scientists/technical experts, capacity building, scientific and technical access to facilities, provision of professional services, organization of scientific conferences/symposia/trainings/workshops/exhibitions, and Sandwich Scholarship Program (SSP).
Please note that proponents should coordinate with their prospective counterpart/collaborator in Chinese Taipei with whom they will work on the capsule proposal preparation and on the project implementation, if approved. Moreover, the same proposal should be submitted to DOST-PCAARRD by the Filipino proponent and to MOST by the Taiwanese counterpart. Only proposals duly submitted to both agencies will undergo initial screening.
For ease of submission and evaluation, proponents are required to submit their capsule proposals, following the attached DOST-prescribed format, to DOST-PCAARRD through r.ebora@pcaarrd.dost.gov.ph and oed-rd@pcaarrd.dost.gov.ph until February 15, 2022.
Only capsule proposals that pass the initial screening shall be developed by the proponents into full-blown proposals for further technical review and possible approval of DOST and MOST.
