The Eastern Visayas State University, through the Intellectual Property and Technology Business Management (IPTBM) unit, hosted the Technology Pitching Competition 2025, held on September 23 at the EVSU ORDExS Function Hall.
The event highlighted technology prototypes and innovations of faculty members and non-teaching personnel aimed at advancing technology and entrepreneurship within the university.
Winners in the competition are: Engr. Roxcella T. Reas, Education Program Specialist II, who emerged as Best Pitcher, winning ₱4,000 for her project A Vertical Farm Module Utilizing Passive Air Cooling for Temperature Control. Ma. Stefanie I. Caintic, faculty from the School of Technology, claimed 1st Runner-Up with ALGARIO WEAVE and The Process of Making Shoe Material from Fabric Scraps, while Jeff L. Homeres from the School of Education – Technical and Vocational Education Department placed 2nd Runner-Up with An Add-on Overcurrent and Voltage Surge Protection Circuit Enclosed in a Power Plug Adapter.
1st and 2nd Runners up received ₱3000 and ₱2000, respectively. Among the technologies presented during the Pitching Competition were Food Innovation, Product Development, and Tools and Equipment Design.
Serving as evaluators were Dr. Ma. Windie C. Velarde, Director for Innovation and IPTBM Technical Staff; Dr. Pearl Aphrodite B. Carnice, Faculty of the Department of Natural Sciences and IPTBM Project Lead; and Mark Rembert M. Patindol, Eastern Visayas Food Innovation Center (EVFIC) Manager.
Now on its second year of Phase II operations, EVSU’s IPTBM continues to champion technology development and commercialization within the university and its partner communities.
