News A weekly dose of fitness and fun for government personnel

Leyte, Philippines – The Eastern Visayas State University – Carigara Campus (EVSU-CC) is turning up the energy every Friday afternoon with its Weekend Zumba Sessions, a wellness initiative spearheaded by Mrs. Bonita Shigella V. Cotoner, the campus school nurse. Held at the EVSU-CC mini gymnasium at 4:00 p.m., the sessions are designed to help participants shake off stress, boost physical fitness, and build community spirit.

This vibrant program aligns with Civil Service Memorandum Circular No. 38 of 1992, which encourages physical and mental fitness among government personnel. Leading the dance floor is the dynamic Zin Raffy Orogan, whose infectious energy and routine make the sessions enjoyable for both seasoned and first time dancers.

More than just a workout, Friday Zumba is a celebration of health, camaraderie, and self-care. It’s a space where colleagues can bond, laugh, and dance their way to a healthier lifestyle.
