Professional Regulatory Board (PRB) Inspection and Monitoring Team commences its inspection and monitoring of the Bachelor of Science in Agriculture major in Agricultural Extension at Eastern Visayas State University-Burauen Campus (EVSU-BC), January 22.
Said monitoring inspection aims to evaluate the program’s compliance with the standards of the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) by assessing the faculty qualifications, facilities, equipment, and laboratories while also providing recommendations for further improvement.
In his opening remarks, Campus Director Dr. Renato E. Martija highlights the significance of the inspection and extends his gratitude for the team’s efforts to guide the school for its program’s betterment. “Today’s inspection and monitoring process is not just an assessment but also an opportunity for us to reflect, improve, and align our academic and practical training,” he said.
Moreover, PRB Chairperson for Agriculture Hon. Emma K. Sales shares the purpose of the visit and their expectations of the program’s possible improvements in the coming years. “We want to see your strength and also the weaknesses so that you can improve on that and therefore maybe next year or the succeeding year, your department will be receiving an award as one of the best performing schools for agriculture,” she shared. In her closing remarks, Prof. Daisy T. Pedere, Head of the Education Department and Concurrent Quality Assurance Coordinator, expresses her gratitude for the inspection. “Your visit unveils our understanding, perspective, and appreciation of our unique strengths in implementing the BS Agriculture program in our campus,” she concluded.
After the thorough inspection, the results reveal that the program complies with some of the minimum requirements, but there are still areas for improvement. The PRB team provides detailed recommendations to help the campus address these gaps so it can fully meet the required standards.
