The College of Architecture and Allied Disciplines (CAAD) celebrated its students’ academic excellence on June 9, 2025, at the GS Function Hall. This annual recognition event honors the dedication and hard work of high-achieving students from both the BS Interior Design (BSID) and BS Architecture (BSAr) programs.
In her welcome remarks, Dean Ar. Charlotte B. Montaño emphasized the talent, determination, and academic growth of CAAD students, acknowledging the long hours and creative challenges they face. Addressing parents and guardians, she expressed, “I hope that you will help me reinforce this message to your children—that their value is not diminished by the absence of an award, and their future remains full of promise with or without recognition. Let us choose to uplift, support, and protect them, rather than pressure them to define themselves by accolades alone.”
Dr. Lydia M. Morante, Vice President for Academic Affairs, delivered a heartfelt message to the students. Despite her demanding schedule, she prepared and delivered an inspiring speech that will undoubtedly guide them beyond their university years. “You, the architects and interior designers of tomorrow, hold a unique power. You just do not create buildings or rooms— you craft experiences. You design the places where people fall in love, where families gather, where dreams are born, and where memories are made.” she passionately stated.
Overall, the event was a warm, well-organized, and meaningful celebration of CAAD’s outstanding students. More than just a recognition of achievements, the ceremony served as a symbol of perseverance, creativity, and the steadfast support within the CAAD community. As students advance in their academic journey, they carry with them the encouragement of their mentors, the wisdom of their leaders, and the confidence that their contributions will shape the world.
