News DOST, EVSU rolls out MoCCoV to strengthen disaster response in Region 08

The Department of Science and Technology (DOST), in partnership with Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), officially launched the Mobile Command and Control Vehicle (MoCCoV) on April 10, 2025, at the ORDExS Studio Room. The deployment of the MoCCoV is a core part of the DOST’s project titled “Application of Science, Technology, and Innovation for the Enhancement of Disaster Risk Reduction and Management in Region 8.”

The MoCCoV is a cutting-edge system designed to streamline emergency operations, equipping first responders with real-time data, GPS tracking, and secure communication systems to enhance coordination during crises. By integrating these technologies, MoCCoV ensures more efficient disaster response and management, particularly in large-scale emergencies.

The transcending MoCCoV technology and system is a hefty leap towards a more efficient emergency support operation for the region and is poised to play a crucial role in strengthening EVSU’s crisis management strategies, as the university continues to expand its role in disaster risk reduction and climate resilience.
