The 13th International Business Summit, held in the People Center, Tacloban City on October 15-16, 2024, showcased global innovation through digital entrepreneurship and artificial intelligence. Organized by the Office of Alumni Affairs and Relations under Dr. Felix Dexter O. Barrion, it focused on empowering Generation Alpha—the future pioneers of the digital era.

Key speakers, including Dr. Analyn Españo, emphasized education’s role in fostering entrepreneurial skills to overcome adversities. Dr. Edward Chua presented the benefits of digital entrepreneurship, highlighting its affordability and expansive reach, and stressed its potential to create groundbreaking business models. Dr. Maximo C. Aljibe explored strategies like flexible learning and technological literacy to prepare Gen Alpha as transformative leaders, supported by initiatives from the Commission on Higher Education.

Discussions revolved around Gen Alpha’s characteristics—tech-savvy, environmentally conscious, and brand-loyal—and the shift in market trends driven by AI. Proposed bills like the Konektadong Pinoy Bill aim to enhance internet accessibility, crucial for empowering Filipino digital entrepreneurs, as mentioned by Hon. Coco Yap.

The summit fostered collaboration among academia, government, and private sectors, championing innovation and paving the way for Generation Alpha to lead global progress.
