In its continued efforts to pursue sustainable development, EVSU, through its Department of Natural Sciences (DNS) and Pollution Control Office (PCO), spearheaded a Waste Management Orientation at the university’s Science Building. The event was held to enhance the knowledge and practices of EVSU’s maintenance personnel in proper waste handling and disposal.
The orientation was anchored around compliance with Republic Act 9003, also known as the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, which mandates systematic, comprehensive, and ecological approaches to solid waste management.
Interactive discussions and activities were conducted to make sure that the university’s community upholds environmentally responsible practices in day-to-day operations.
By equipping its personnel with practical knowledge on ecological waste management, EVSU reinforces its role as a learning institution that models green initiatives.
This initiative is part of EVSU’s ongoing efforts to reduce its environmental footprint and contribute meaningfully to climate resilience.
Through these programs, the university affirms its resolve to uphold a more environmentally conscious academic community, further aligning its programs towards the urgent call to action to combat climate change and its impacts.
