The Electronics Engineering (ECE) Department together with the Rotary Club of Kandaya and the Institute of Electronics Engineers of the Philippines, Inc. – Eastern Visayas Chapter (IECEP-EVC) officially launched the 2nd project “LOKAL WIFI” at Northern Tacloban City National Highschool, New Kawayan, Tacloban City.
The project began with an ocular inspection on the site last January 21, 2021, lead by the ECE Department’s very own Engr. Allan L. Bargamento. The project was successfully installed last June 20, 2021, and followed by a ”Training on the utilization of the Lokal Wifi” last July 28, 2021 lead by the Faculty of the Electronics Engineering Department, spearheaded by Engr. Roxcella T. Reas.
Project Lokal Wifi aims to address the current dilemma in the new modes of learning brought by the pandemic by creating a communication link between teachers and students within a community without cost and physical contact. Lokal Wifi is capable of file transfer such as pictures and videos, as well as messaging capability between devices without the need for internet or load.
