As part of the National Hazing Prevention Week, the Eastern Visayas State University Student Affairs and Services Office conducted a seminar on Republic Act 11053, or the Anti-Hazing Act of 2018, on February 13 at the Graduate School Function Hall.
The seminar gathered EVSUnistas from the main campus with the goal of educating them on the dangers and legal consequences of hazing while guiding students and organizations on their responsibilities under the law. Discussions were led by University Board Secretary Atty. Edgardo Esperas Jr., who outlined the key provisions of the act and emphasized accountability and preventive measures within academic institutions.
Also present during the activity were Dr. Analyn Españo, Vice President for Students, Internationalization and External Affairs, and Dr. Sonia Enrile, SASO Director, who expressed support for initiatives that foster awareness, responsibility, and a culture of respect across the university community.
