News EVSU eyes partnership with University of Mindanao to enhance BS Architecture program

As part of its ongoing efforts to further strengthen linkages and engagement, EVSU participated in an exploratory meeting with the University of Mindanao on October 12, 2023, via Google Meet.

The said virtual meeting was attended by EVSU officials led by Dr. Analyn C. Españo, the Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension Services, Dean Charlotte Montaño, faculty members of the College of Architecture and Allied Discipline, and the UM’s Dean of College of Architecture and Fine Arts Education, Ar. Iluminado C. Quinto, Jr., the program head of BS Architecture, Ar. Camilo P. Quibod, together with their faculty members.

Ar. Fredinel Banaag, a DOST-Balik Scientist Program awardee who is in medium-term engagement with the University of Mindanao, was a remarkable presence during the meeting. Ar. Banaag expressed his enthusiasm to contribute his knowledge and expertise to EVSU, highlighting the potential benefits of his involvement in the partnership.

With the primary aim of enhancing the BS Architecture program in both universities, various possible areas of cooperation for the partnership were identified, such as adjunct professorships, collaborative research and extension engagements, faculty and student mobility, among other activities that will be mutually agreed upon by both institutions.

The University of Mindanao is the largest, private, non-sectarian university in Mindanao, located in Davao City.
