Tacloban City, Philippines -The newly elected EVSU Faculty Association (EVSU-FA) officers formally began their terms through an oath taking ceremony at the president’s office on September 04.
The EVSU community would like to congratulate the following faculty members for being elected to lead the university’s faculty association.

Coinciding with said oath-taking, EVSU president Dr. Dennis C. de Paz held a meeting with the newly elected EVSU-FA officers, mainly to address concerns and give updates as to the university’s initiatives .
One of the primary topics addressed was the establishment of a direct line of communication between the EVSU-FA and the university administration. EVSU-FA President Prof. Christopher Bacungan expressed strong support for this initiative, affirming the association’s commitment to collaborate closely with the administration. He also pledged to advance the association’s objectives, including the development of a process for addressing faculty concerns directly with the president’s office.
The discussion also focused on the current shortage of classrooms and the condition of some university facilities, particularly the comfort rooms. In response, President De Paz outlined ongoing efforts to address these issues. He highlighted the construction and renovation of classrooms as part of the SMART University project and mentioned the temporary implementation of blended learning for specific subjects during the construction phase. Regarding the maintenance of comfort rooms and other facilities, President De Paz emphasized the importance of completing the centralized water system and EVSU’s powerhouse, which are critical to resolving these problems. Additionally, he mentioned plans to unify the university’s maintenance workforce under a single office to enhance efficiency and avoid overlapping responsibilities.
As the new EVSU-FA leadership step into their roles, the university’s community remains optimistic about the strengthened partnership between the faculty association and the administration, aiming for continued progress and collaborative success in the months ahead.
