News EVSU holds work ethics and safe spaces act seminar of upcoming OJT students for AY 2025-2026

With the 2nd Semester of academic year 2025-2026 in full swing, the university recently held a pre-deployment seminar for its On-the-job Training (OJT) students this January 21 at the Graduate School Function Hall.

Anchored on the theme “Creating Safe and Inclusive Workplaces”, the seminar featured in-depth discussions on the Anti-Sexual Harassment Act of 1995 (RA 7877), Safe Spaces Act or Bawal Bastos Law (RA 11313) led by Prof. Rodney C. Abaigar, MM, JD, who oriented the upcoming interns on the key provisions of the laws and discussed various situations in which these policies apply.

Further, Prof Arvin Pepe led discussions on Work Ethics followed by an overarching discussion led by Dr. Salvador O. Bonifacio, CPA on Ched Memorandum no. 104 s. 2017 or the Revised Guidelines for the Student Internship Program in the Philippines (SIPP) for all higher education programs.

This seminar was attended by OJT students from the School of Arts and Sciences (SAS), School of Education (SOEd), School of Technology (SOT), and External Campuses who joined through google meet.

Through capacitating initiatives such as this, the university ensures that the next batch of EVSUnista interns are fully prepared to integrate themselves into the work force.
