News EVSU hosts free Medical and Dental Caravan for Tacloban Residents

Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) served as one of the venues for the “LAB for All” free medical and dental caravan held last July 2–4, 2025, offering essential healthcare services to residents of Tacloban City and nearby communities.

The three-day caravan is a joint initiative of the Tingog Party List, the Eastern Visayas Medical Center (EVMC), the City Health Office, the Department of Health (DOH), and the Local Government Unit of Tacloban City.

The program aimed to make basic healthcare services more accessible to the public, particularly those with limited access to regular medical care.

Various medical and support services were provided during the event, including HIV screening, vaccination, PhilHealth kiosk assistance, X-ray services, and free medical and dental consultations.

The first two days of the caravan were simultaneously held at three locations: EVSU Inner Court, Northern Barangay, and Remedios Trinidad Romualdez Medical Foundation (RTRMF), all culminating in a Grand Caravan at the RTRMF’s Gymnasium on July 4.

Programs such as this promote public health awareness and strengthened inter-agency collaboration through the act of bringing vital healthcare services closer to the people.

By taking part in these partnerships, EVSU continues to support community-centered initiatives that contribute to the overall well-being and development of the region.
