News EVSU joins ATU-Net as new member

The Eastern Visayas State University became one of the newest members of the Asia Technology University Network (ATU-Net), a strategic international alliance in engineering and technology among technological universities in Asia, after EVSU President Dr. Dennis C. de Paz signed the Memorandum of Understanding with the ATU-Net Consortium during the 11th President’s and Board Meeting at the Rizqun Hotel, Bandar Seri Begawan City on October 23, 2023.

The 11th ATU-Net Board Meeting, as part of the STE Connect 2023 event, served as a platform for fruitful discussions, knowledge sharing, and networking opportunities among experts, professionals, and enthusiasts in the field of technology. The meeting highlighted key takeaways from the conference and reiterated the significance of ongoing collaboration and knowledge sharing among Asian nations. The Asia Technology Board Meeting was concluded with sessions focusing on policy frameworks, addressing regulatory challenges in the technological landscape, and fostering an environment conducive to innovation. 

As an ATU-Net member, EVSU can participate in multilateral partnerships with existing consortium members and student mobility programs including online global classrooms and summer programs. Special grants for young researchers in the university and staff mobility through varied capacity building programs can be explored. ATU-Net is chaired by the Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM).

Present in the said event is Prof. Faustito A. Aure, director for internationalization for higher education, who conducted networking activities with fellow International Relations Officers (IROs) from other Asian Universities and benchmarking in different universities in Brunei.
