Tacloban City, Philippines– Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) has taken a significant step towards enhancing synergistic transactions within the university by launching its new Alumni Web Portal. The portal was officially introduced during an orientation session attended by alumni coordinators from external campuses and alumni staff on the main campus, today, December 13, 2024 via Google Meet
The purpose of this session was to familiarize coordinators on external campuses and reorient alumni staff with the functionalities and benefits of the upgraded web portal. This innovative system aims to unify alumni data across all campuses, ensuring streamlined operations and compliance with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) requirements.
The web portal offers numerous advantages, including the ability to consolidate records of alumni from elementary through postgraduate studies. It will include essential information such as addresses, contact numbers, and current email addresses, as well as track professional and business information, meeting ISO standards for alumni tracing. This centralized system will facilitate easier access to alumni data, making it more efficient to provide required information to CHED and other stakeholders.
Moreover, the web portal will simplify the dissemination of information to alumni and encourage their active participation. Graduates from 2016 and earlier, who were not included in the previous system, can now register through the EVSU applications. The portal also integrates external campus graduates into the main campus system, ensuring a cohesive and comprehensive alumni network.
The role of alumni coordinators and staff is pivotal in this initiative. They are responsible for encouraging graduates to register, verifying their information, and approving registrations. This collective effort will strengthen the connection between the university and its alumni, fostering a supportive and engaged community.
EVSU is committed to leveraging modern technology to enhance its operations and maintain strong ties with its alumni. The Alumni Web Portal is a demonstration of this commitment, ensuring that EVSU remains at the forefront of educational excellence and community engagement.
