News EVSU opens 14th International Business Summit

Eastern Visayas State University formally opened the 14th International Business Summit at the People’s Center Library in Tacloban City this November 20, 2025, gathering students, educators, and partner institutions for a day of insightful discussions on innovation, sustainability, and the future of global business.

Following the theme “Future Forward: Navigating the New Era of Business, Innovation, and Sustainability,” this year’s summit brings together a diverse academic community to explore emerging trends shaping the business landscape.

In attendance were entrepreneurship students and faculty from EVSU Main Campus, EVSU Burauen Campus, EVSU Carigara Campus, EVSU Tanauan Campus, Abuyog Community College, Asian Development Foundation College, Biliran Province State University, Burauen Community College, Colegio de las Navas, ESSU Borongan Campus, ESSU Can-Avid Campus, ESSU Guiuan Campus, ESSU Salcedo Campus, Franciscan College of the Immaculate Conception, Palompon Institute of Technology, Northwest Samar State University, SLSU Main Campus, St. Michael College of Hindang, Leyte Inc., Western Leyte College, and Northern Samar Colleges Inc.

The opening day set a strong tone for dynamic exchanges on innovation, sustainability, and the evolving landscape of global business, marking EVSU’s active engagement in advancing forward-looking dialogues in the region. EVSU was represented by the Vice President for Research, Innovation, and Extension Services, Dr. Danilo B. Pulma, Vice President for Students Development, Internationalization and External Affairs, Dr. Analyn C. Españo, Vice President for Academic Affairs, Dr. Benedicto T. Militante, Jr. CHED’s Regional Director, Dr. Maximo Aljibe was also present as Keynote Speaker during the Summit. Honorable Jericho “ICOT” Petilla was represented by Board Member Kathryn Veloso-Kabigting, Board Member of the 3rd District of Leyte.

Through the conduct of gatherings such as the International Business Summit, EVSU strengthens its globalization agenda and encourages partnerships in fields related to business, entrepreneurship, and sustainability.
