Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) is once again at the heart of Tacloban’s cultural celebration as it welcomes nearly 2,000 delegates from various towns across Leyte for the highly anticipated Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival of Festivals. The grand event will take place on June 27, 2024, at 1:00 PM at the Leyte Sports Development Center (Grandstand) as part of the city’s 135th Fiesta Celebration in honor of Señor Sto. Niño de Tacloban.
This housing initiative is EVSU’s way of extending support to the festival and providing a safe, comfortable space for performers who will showcase the rich culture and vibrant traditions of their respective hometowns.
The university’s buildings have been opened to accommodate the following groups:
Matag-ob (Himurasak Festival): 350 delegates housed at the ABS-CBN Building
Alang-alang (Lingganay Festival): 400 delegates housed at the College of Engineering Building
Burauen (Buraburon Festival): 500 delegates housed at the Academic Building (CAS) and COBE Building
Abuyog (Buyogan Festival): 600 delegates housed at the Science, Maritime, and Technology Buildings
EVSU officials expressed their excitement to host the delegates, emphasizing the institution’s role not just as an academic hub but also as a strong partner in cultural and community development.
As preparations continue, EVSU wishes all the participating contingents the best of luck and a joyful, memorable experience in this year’s Pintados-Kasadyaan Festival.
