The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Central Office officially commenced its three (3)-day monitoring and implementation evaluation visit to EVSU on July 14, 2025, which runs until July 16, focuses on projects funded under the CHED-Institutional Development and Innovation Grant (IDIG).
The visit assessed the progress, effectiveness, and impact of EVSU’s ongoing projects to ensure alignment with CHED’s goal of strengthening institutional capacity and innovation in higher education.
Said activity includes presentations from project teams, site visits, and deliberations conducted by the CHED monitoring and evaluation team.
Representatives from both CHED Central and Regional Office VIII comprise the evaluation team, including Dr. Hosea L. Matel and Dr. Cesar A. Llorente both Technical Evaluator, Mr. Foulette G. Gunao, Education Program Specialist I; Mr. Jeffrey E. Reyes, Program Technical Staff II; Mr. Cydric B. Suyom, Education Program Specialist II; and Mr. Jodel C. Olaya, Program Technical Staff III.
EVSU was represented by officials led by University President Dr. Dennis C. De Paz, along with Dr. Analyn C. Españo, Vice President for Research and Development, and Extension Services; Dr. Lydia M. Morante, Vice President for Academic Affairs; and Dr. Danilo B. Pulma, Vice President for Internationalization and External Affairs.
Project leaders and members presented their progress reports and held discussions with the evaluation team, featuring the Ceramics Industry Laboratory (HEDF 2016) by Engr. Marites Bardelas, Dr. Sheldon Ives Agaton, and Dr. James Pedrera; the Upgrading of Engineering and Technology Laboratories (2019) by Engr. Albert Azcarraga, Dr. Vinyl Oquiño, and Dr. Annabelle Pilapil; and the Development of Technopreneurship Hub (2017) by Dr. Danilo B. Pulma, Engr. Roque Constiniano, and Engr. Roxcella Reas.
In support of the technical evaluation, the Head of the Accounting Office Ms. Ruby Mancio and the Head of the Property Management Office Mr. Aries Mercullo also played vital roles in providing financial and asset accountability reports ensuring transparency and compliance with CHED’s financial and property inventory requirements.
The insights and recommendations gathered during the CHED-IDIG M&E Team visit are expected to guide EVSU in refining its project implementation and achieving successful outcomes.
