As #TinoPH intensified into a typhoon, the Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) opened its doors to evacuees from Barangays 43, 43A, 43B, 44, and 44A, along with several of the university’s employees and their families who also sought refuge on campus.
A total of 649 individuals were safely accommodated in the ABS-CBN Building, Graduate School Building, College of Arts and Sciences Building, and Engineering Building.
EVSU’s Disaster Risk Reduction Management (DRRM) Committee’s Incident Commander, Dr. Ronald B. Madera, closely coordinated with the City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO) to facilitate evacuation efforts and ensure proper management of evacuees.
Further, personnel from the recently constituted DRRM committee, reported on-site to monitor weather conditions, coordinate with local authorities, and ensure the continuous delivery of assistance to evacuees.
