As part of its weeklong 21st Charter Anniversary celebration, Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), through the Office of the Vice President for Students, Internationalization, and External Affairs led by Dr. Analyn C. Españo, hosted a hybrid ceremonial Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signing on September 3, 2025, at Ordex Studio. The ceremony marked EVSU’s ongoing commitment to building transformative and lasting partnerships with five local institutions.
More than a formal agreement, the MOU symbolizes a shared vision for enduring collaboration that encourages the exchange of innovative ideas, joint programs, and mutual support across sectors. University officials from various departments attended the event, reflecting EVSU’s unified approach to external engagement.
In her welcome remarks, Dr. Españo emphasized that the MOU is not merely a document, but a living testament to EVSU’s dedication to inclusive and impactful partnerships. Quoting the university hymn, she said, “You shall shine with pride throughout the nation,” and added, “We aim to become a platform for industry, private sectors, and civil society organizations not as mere beneficiaries, but as enablers of their corporate social responsibility.”
Dr. Españo also introduced the Quadruple Helix Model as the guiding framework for these partnerships. This model emphasizes the intersection of four key pillars: academia, industry, government, and civil society.
Through this collaborative approach, the academe’s mandate to deliver quality education will be strengthened by the active involvement of other sectors. She affirmed, “We are committed to pursuing collaboration in its truest and strictest sense.”
The MOU outlines several potential areas of cooperation. These include long-term and short-term collaboration agreements, student and faculty mobility, immersion programs, joint research initiatives, community engagement and extension services, capacity development, and the sharing of expertise and resources.
These collaborative efforts are designed to foster mutual growth and success, enabling EVSU and its partners to make a meaningful impact—both within their institutions and beyond.

Together, they are not only shaping the academic landscape but also driving meaningful change across communities, industries, and generations to come.
