News EVSU students shine in international virtual program CommTECH Nusantara 2026

Tacloban City, Philippines — Students from Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) have once again demonstrated academic excellence and global competitiveness after successfully completing the CommTECH Nusantara 2026 Ramadan Edition, an international virtual program held from March 2 to 13, 2026.

Hosted by the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember in Surabaya, the program brought together participants from various countries to engage in global learning experiences centered on Indonesian culture, innovation, and academic collaboration. The timing of the program during the observance of Ramadan added a deeper cultural dimension, allowing participants to appreciate not only academic content but also meaningful cultural traditions.

Representing EVSU were students Shaun Rey P. Rostata, Cristine Villaceran, Kyla Marie Tañega, and Eurika Jane Gade, who actively participated in a series of virtual lectures, workshops, and collaborative projects. Throughout the program, they demonstrated creativity, critical thinking, and intercultural competence through outputs such as digital archives and video presentations.

Their outstanding performance earned them Certificates of Participation, with three students receiving special recognition. Shaun Rey P. Rostata and Kyla Marie Tañega were awarded Best in Archive, while Eurika Jane Gade garnered the Best in Video Presentation Award—highlighting the exceptional quality and impact of their work.

The CommTECH Nusantara program continues to serve as a platform for fostering international collaboration and enhancing students’ global perspectives. Through this initiative, participants are equipped with vital skills in digital communication, cross-cultural engagement, and academic innovation.

The success of EVSU’s student delegates reaffirms the university’s strong commitment to internationalization and its mission to produce globally competitive graduates. It also highlights the growing role of virtual exchange programs in expanding access to international education and strengthening global partnerships.
