Dr. Analyn C. Españo, Vice President for Student Development, Internationalization, and External Affairs at Eastern Visayas State University, earned her Certificate in Leadership and Management from the Wharton School-Aresty Institute of Executive Education under the Commission on Higher Education’s (CHED) Higher Education Upskilling and Study for Advancement of Staff and Faculty (HUSAY) program on September 1, 2025, following a three-month intensive program.
Dr. Españo was nominated for the program during her preceding three-year tenure as Vice President for Research and Development and Extension Services, a position which required her to lead two of the university’s core mandates: research and extension services ensuring that institutional targets were met and that implemented programs created measurable socio-economic impacts across the region.
She is also a long-standing faculty member of the School of Arts and Sciences, teaching English and Literature courses at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. The Wharton School selects only qualified applicants for its intensive, executive-level certificate programs, such as Leadership and Management.
This selectivity ensures the programs are populated by experienced professionals who are prepared to immediately apply strategic concepts and contribute to a high-caliber learning environment. By applying the advanced frameworks learned at Wharton, Dr. Españo is further strengthening EVSU’s capacity to deliver high-impact research and extension programs aligned with national development goals.
