The Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) recently welcomed a delegation of international experts in the e-sports and game development industries this September 9, 2025. The visitors were toured around EVSU’s SMART classroom facilities, assisted by the university’s technical teams.
This engagement is a part of the Department of Science and Technology’s current thrust of boosting regional engagement with international talents in emerging industries. Specifically, their spin-off activity “Power-Up: Game Development Bootcamp” invited experts from the USA, Canada, Uruguay, and Thailand to share insights and global perspectives on the e-sports and game development industries.
Said visit comes after EVSU’s technical team joined the interactive and collaborative face-to-face forum with the expert-visitors last September 08 at the Summit Hotel.
Present during the courtesy visit were Mr. Himashu Agarwal, Mr. Samuel Lanfranco, Mr. Igor Grigoryev, Mr. Delfin Iglesias accompanied by DOST, namely, Marilyn O. Radam, Assistant Regional Director for Technical Operations of DOST VIII; Osric Primo Quibot, Assistant Regional Director for Technical Operations of DOST – NCR; and Mhardy Montejo, Provincial Director, DOST-PSTO Leyte.
This visit and the preceding forum are highly beneficial for the university, as they open up valuable opportunities for potential partnerships, strengthening the region’s growing digital and creative industries
