Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) and Leyte Normal University (LNU) co-hosted the Regional Culture and Arts Festival (RCAF) 2026 Literary Arts competition last March 11. Said event’s competitions were held on LNU premises with the closing and opening ceremony being held at the HRDC Alba Hall.
Various State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) across Region 8 participated in the event. Competing institutions included the University of Eastern Philippines (UEP), Biliran Province State University (BiPSU), Northwest Samar State University (NwSSU), Palompon Institute of Technology (PIT), Southern Leyte State University (SLSU), Samar State University (SSU), Visayas State University (VSU), Eastern Samar State University (ESSU), alongside the host universities, LNU and EVSU.
This year’s literary showcase was anchored on the theme, “Pagpasidungog Sa Aton Panublion, Kultura, Kag Mga Bahandi” (Honoring Our Cultural Heritage and Treasures).
NwSSU emerged as the overall champion of the competition. LNU secured the 1st runner-up spot, followed by SSU as 2nd runner-up, EVSU as 3rd runner-up, and VSU as 4th runner-up.
