Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU) employees and students actively participated in a Gender Sensitivity Seminar aimed at strengthening a more inclusive and equitable environment. The event carried the theme “Empathy in Action: Building Inclusive Teams through Self-Awareness and Gender Sensitivity.”
The seminar highlighted the importance of promoting a gender-equal culture within the university and encouraged participants to practice empathy and mutual respect in their professional and personal interactions.
One of the highlight sessions, titled “Caring for Yourself and Others: A Guide to Mental Health,” encouraged the participants to actively promote mental health awareness and prioritize overall well-being.
Other topics tackled during the event included understanding gender identity, breaking stereotypes, and enhancing gender sensitivity in teamwork and group dynamics—all aimed at empowering employees to build stronger, more collaborative teams.
The seminar is part of EVSU’s continuing efforts to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment for its faculty, staff, and students.
