News THE Core Team undergoes Training-Workshop for Sustainability Portal Development

Eastern Visayas State University (EVSU), through its Times Higher Education (THE) Core Team, successfully conducted a three-day training-workshop on sustainability portal development as part of its ongoing efforts to position the university in the global arena on September 10-12, 2025.

This initiative aligns with EVSU’s vision of “Action for a Sustainable Future” and its commitment to actively participate in global sustainability efforts.

The training equipped the team with the necessary skills to develop a sustainability portal that will serve as a key platform for tracking and reporting EVSU’s contributions to sustainable development.

The THE Impact Ratings, an annual assessment by Times Higher Education, measure universities’ performance in achieving the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The rankings evaluate contributions across four key areas: research, stewardship, outreach, and teaching.

Through this capacity-building activity, EVSU aims to enhance its ability to document and highlight its impact in these areas, ultimately working towards a place in the prestigious THE World University Rankings.
