News The Industrial Wheel earns spot in int’l ASEAN UniFest 2025

The Eastern Visayas State University community proudly lauds The Industrial Wheel, the university’s official student publication, for earning an international nomination for the 2nd ASEAN UniFest 2025: SDG Film Competition for ASEAN Students to be held in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia.

Their documentary film, “Huni: The Silenced Hum of Cancabato Bay,” directed by Head Videojournalist Elyssa F. Lobres, provides a compelling narrative about the Cancabato Causeway Project, exploring its environmental implications and the plight of local communities whose lives are intertwined with the bay.

This nomination highlights our EVSUnistas’ creativity, social awareness and excellence, contributing to EVSU’s greater goal of advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through education, research, and creative expression.

EVSU commends The Industrial Wheel for this remarkable achievement and for continuing to bring honor and pride to the entire university community.
