Abstract

The study aims to evaluate the three-factor structure in theUniversity Satisfaction Tool. The second objective of this analysis was todetermine whether UST three-factor models are convergent anddiscriminating. A quantitative methodological analysis was conducted with asample of 386 university students in Eastern Visayas State UniversityOrmoc City Campus, Ormoc City, Philippines. Participants were taken usingconvenience sampling techniques. The hypotheses test on the confirmatoryfactorial composition of the UST was carried out with latent variablestructural equations. The results demonstrated that the fit index rating of themodel was satisfactory (X2 = 216.6, df = 87, X2/df = 2.49; GFI=.927; TLI =.923; CFI = .936 and RMSEA =.062); factor loads exceeds 0.40 and therewere moderate to strong magnitude item factor correlations (r = 0.38 - 0.68).The Cronbach’s α of the whole scale was 0.74, while its three factors were0.85, 0.76 and 0.70, respectively. The composition of the factor scale wasvalid and reliable, with the exception of one factor. The scale will providedirections for enhancing educational satisfaction. To improve the reliability and dimension analysis and of factors, the scale will be extended to samples of general population. The study leads to further studies on the UST's development and its satisfaction structure.
