Abstract

Among the functions of the Higher Educational Institution (HEI) is to bring out quality and excellent graduates who are prepared to enter the local and global labor arena. This study primarily aimed to find out the employment status of the College of Technology graduates from the class of 2020. Employing a descriptive research design, this study utilized a survey questionnaire to elicit the data from the 137 respondents from the Bachelor of Industrial Technology, Mechanical Technology, Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Technology, Marine Engineering, and Nutrition and Dietetics programs of the College of Technology. The findings of the study revealed that most of the respondents are employed and have permanent employment status in different fields of specialization, some are self-employed, and others are unemployed. Moreover, as to the type of organizations, most of the respondents are employed in the private sector under their field of specialization and others are connected in the government sector. On the other hand, on the distribution of the respondents according to their place of work, most of the graduates (except for the Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering) are working in the Philippines. For the Marine Engineering graduates, the majority are working abroad. After the thorough analysis of the findings obtained from the results of the study, the researchers came up with a conclusion that the results are intended to serve as the inputs in policy direction and the curriculum development of the various programs of the College of Technology.
