Abstract
The purpose of this study was to examine the process of incorporating Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM) into the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) and Bachelor of Secondary Industrial Education (BSIED) programs at Eastern Visayas State University's (EVSU) College of Education in Tacloban City, Leyte, Philippines. Eighty percent of faculty implementers endorsed the integration and infusion method, which emphasized faculty capacity and resiliency building, revisiting Outcomes-Based Education Syllabi, designing and preparing learning resources, and guiding students in hazard mapping and risk assessment in schools and communities. They recognized that the technique allowed them to add crucial DRR messages, which resulted in the construction of DRR comic books by students. The faculty-implementers feel that integration is critical to an individual's, family's, and community's understanding of disaster risk reduction, which will result in increased resilience during times of disaster.
